Chorus [in Spanish?]

ENGLISH LYRICS:
I had my feet on the ground but the head in the clouds
I dreamt of living together in a world where there is no age
Where every time we kiss each other, I get a little nervous
And at every time you tell me I love you, a soldier would disappear from Iraq
Our history is moving in the Arab world, so not very Catholic,
But we preferred to leave religion to the computer monitor
Over the rooftops of Damascus, mosques read the Koran
At 5 o’clock in the morning over the city, we kissed tenderly
We left Sharm el Sheikh with its 5-star hotels,
To sleep in the desert under more than a million stars
And in Beirut, the division line must see what is left,
We deliberately lost the north to mix East and West
It is a love story as common as there are so often,
But an unusual story of a Christian and a Muslim
In the Middle East in this part of the world where our story evolves
People are willing to see blood but not kissing on the street.

Chorus [in Spanish?]

We have broken all their laws, all their outdated customs
With one caress we broke their heavy armored doors
We had said so many I love yous that we brought down the government
They who had believed that by dividing us we no longer would dare to speak in parliament
When it rained bombs, we were planting flowers
So much to the point that they were ashamed of wanting to grow our fears
It was proved that the mixtures are not always explosive
An old recipe for us my love: Muslim, Christian, Jewish
Men of faith, outraged, throwing Manichean speeches,
But we drank the Mediterranean, both of us were one
Even the family laughed, uncles and aunts enraged
But we could not hear them; we had the head in the clouds
We mocked their traditions to this day we laugh
If they are well trimmed grass, we were crazy weeds
And our love story you know basically nobody believed
Because they had their feet on the ground but their head was buried deep in their ass.

I am talking in silence. I am talking in silence.

I am talking in silence. There are people who that pretend I am death and that I am very dangerous. My voice is loud (in Beirut).
(x2)

because the sound that goes out of me will break walls,
because they sowed hatred in me and this hatred is still thirsty,
because of them we lived a childhood without childhood,
because we were born and grew up and were raised among elephants,
because the pen I write with is sharp like the knife
that is stabbing the white paper like they doubted/stabbed me,
because my microphone will break the tiles
unlike the singer’s microphone that he puts under his arm.
And if I am cynical some days, believe me, it's to keep myself from crying
and to keep myself from going to the streets. I prefer to write and talk
because every word I write is like a bullet I spit
and your brain does not stand it. It should make you feel guilty
because you know that the truth is not written in the article
because I say the truth. The truth that cannot be uttered
because the ink that flows from me is Beirut’s blood.
Do you understand why I talk by myself? Do you understand why I talk in silence?

I am talking in silence. There are people who that pretend I am death and that I am very dangerous. My voice is loud (in Beirut).
(x4)

Watch me only while I talk to them. Know that I spit poison
when they try to hurt me. My ink seeps like blood.
Let me make things clearer for you and explain to you in a general way
that in their dirty game, I would never join
the silence. Only they allege that I am death.
If I did not exist, tell me how happy would you be.
Youth of the new generation have no judgment?
This is not true. You made them confused, you made the situation hard for them
because they talk too much, but all their talk is meaningless
because from the dining table we got peanuts and chickpeas.
There is not a penny in my pocket - I even search under the lining!
Starving nations do not talk but they suffer
because those who have money are living selfishly
because the people do not agree. Despite the similar mentality,
they try to shut me up every day. Now you are many listening to me
and still you all ask me: "why?"

I am talking in silence. There are people who that pretend I am death and that I am very dangerous. My voice is loud (in Beirut).
(x8)

Rayess Bek from Beirut!

In silence. In silence. In silence. In silence. In silence. In silence.
