Malouma

Composers are a new phenomenon in the traditional music of many countries because, until recently, there was no need to compose new tunes when traditional life already with its own vast repertoire of songs for every occasion. But times are changing fast and new generations often feel the need to write new songs to reflect new situations. This is especially true in many African countries, like Mauritania , the home of Malouma Mint Moktar Ould Meidah.

She was born in the 1960s into a family of famous griots from the harsh, desert region of Trarza. By the age of 15, Malouma was already an accomplished griot herself but as her adolescence progressed, musical curiosity prompted her to look beyond the traditions of her Moorish people. She began listening to Egyptian and North African music but also blues and pop from the US and Europe. On reaching adulthood she settled into the predictable lifestyle of an obedient wife, until the late 1980s when she began to perform again. Her new songs, with their contemporary modern feel, provoked a major revolution in Mauritanian music. Their themes of love, life, inequality, social justice, AIDS, illiteracy and the rights of women also challenged deeply ingrained taboos, a fact which initially sullied her name amongst a small clique of big- wigs, griots and decision makers. But her courage and all too obvious musical talents eventually won most people over to her cause, and she's now considered as one of Mauritania's greatest cultural treasures. Her recent album 'Dunya', on the Marabi label, is a veritable West African gumbo of traditional sounds, and modern bluesy licks, all expertly conceived, arranged and recorded.

Helmi is notable for his fast-thinking, witty and smart comedy, which reflects his smartness.
Helmi made his first big screen appearance in film Aboud Ala El Hodoud (Aboud In The Boundaries), in which he co-starred alongside Alaa Waley El Din. Ahmed, through his amazing breakthrough performance, and comic sense of humor, nabbed all the attention he needed in this film. He quickly made a jump to starring roles in films such as Omar 2000, El Nazer (The Headmaster), [[El Selem We Al Tho'ban]] (Snakes And Ladders).
Ahmed first started his career, when director Sherif Arafa was watching the children programme [[Leib Eyal]] (Kids' Play) on the Egyptian Satellite Broadcast[citation needed], Sherif found in Ahmed the comedian actor he needed for the starring role in Aboud Ala El Hedoud. He is a 1993 graduate of the Academy of Arts, High Institute for Theatre Art. Ahmed's idol is his father, he finds in him the idealism, kindness and wisdom. Ahmed also admires Ahmed Zaki for his enormous acting talent. As for the comedy, he adores Adel Emam and Samir Ghanem. Ahmed finds the trend of the cinema today, now known as the "Youth Cinema", can be judged only through audiences. 'After three or four days of screening a film, audiences would know and judge the film to be a success or no, it is a matter of supply and demand, commerce, film is a commodity which applies to the terms of supply and demand, '.
In 2007, he topped the Egyptian comedian market in number of audience and revenue mostly due to the great success of his movie Keda Reda.Wikipedia

Outlandish

Outlandish is a Danish hip-hop group with an international touch. Formed in 1997, it consists of Isam Bachiri (born in Denmark and of Moroccan background), Waqas Ali Qadri (born in Denmark and of Pakistani background), and Lenny Martinez (born in Honduras). All three members are religious, with Isam and Waqas being devout Muslims, and Lenny being at least nominally catholic.
Their R&B/Hip-hop/Rap/soul music takes influences from their various backgrounds (Arab, Pakistani, and Latin music), and although their songs are primarily in English, they usually feature lyrics in Spanish, Urdu, Arabic, and Danish. All these influences make the music of Outlandish somewhat unique and this is easy to notice from the variety of genres covered in their albums. Outlandish often include themes about Islam and contemporary issues facing young Muslims in the west in their music, and sometimes their songs define a nasheed-like unique genre. Last.fm
So sweet, so beautiful
Everyday like, queen on her throne
No, nobody knows how she feel
Aicha, Lady one day it'll be real
(Lets do it)

She moves, she moves like a breeze
I swear I can't get her out of my dreams
To have her shining right here by my side (shining like a star)
I'd sacrifice all them tears in my eyes
ohohohh

[Chorus]

Aicha Aicha - passing me by (there she go again)
Aicha Aicha - my my my (is it really real?)
Aicha Aicha - smile for me now (I don't know, I don't know)
Aicha Aicha - in my life (Yeah)

[Verse2]

Mmm, she holds her child to her heart
Makes her feel like she blessed from above
Falls asleep underneath her sweet tear
Lullaby fades away with his fear
ohh

[1/2Chorus]

Aicha Aicha - passing me by (there she go again)
Aicha Aicha - my my my (Like this, here we go)

[Bridge]

Needs somebody'lean on (lean on)
Someone body, mind & soul (body, mind & soul)
To take her hand, to take her world
Show her the time of her life, so true (true)
Throw the pain away for good
No more contemplating (boo) (No more contemplatin)
No more con.tem.pla.ting boohoho (aha)

[Verse3]

Lord knows the way she feel (I wonder)
Everyday in his name she begins
To have her shining here by my side
I'd sacrifice all them tears in my eyes
Ohh
Aicha Aicha - ecouté moi (Lets do this)

[Chorus]

Aicha Aicha - passing me by (there she go again)
Aicha Aicha - my my my
Aicha Aicha - smile for me now
Aicha Aicha - in my life (ohh)
Aicha Aicha - (there she go again)
Aicha Aicha - passing me by (one more time)
