Download Majid Al Mohandes 2012 Album البوم ماجد المهندس - انا وياك

Majid El Mohandes or Majid is a hot ticket artists. While he is huge in the Gulf area, as poets and weddings throw money at him to see him. He is also huge in Lebanon and hot for Egypt--he gets booked for lots of interviews. The Maghreb adores him as he is a frequent guest on their music festivals. Iraqis are proud of him and his music. So this guy must be doing something or many things right.

He changes styles in between Iraqi blues, poetic romance, and pop and faster tracks songs. You cannot really put your finger on it, but you know you like him. He sings a song like if he had just opens his heart. His songs are so good that you think you have already touched the man's heart because does a fine job putting his sentiments on exhibit. I like the cover albums for this one, he is once again the classy guy we have come to expect from him.

This Iraqi singer just released a work of art album, an impressive 17 tracks. No one does that, and no one can afford this large track numbers. Majid does not need to worry about that, his fans love his work, and people give him their finest lyrics and music just to be on his album. Some have awesome title for Majid, like the prince of Arabic song. I like to dub him, the Lord of Arabic music. Not only is he a fine singer, he is also an accomplished composer who has given some of his work to his peers.

Majid tends to mix styles, he makes Gulf themed music catchier and this friendlier to the ear. He makes romance both the happy and the sad moods. He makes Egyptian and Lebanese pop songs that can and often does rival the most seasoned singer. It's no secret that the people who been talking about this album. I am certain, Rotana will be happy they have booked this artist. He might sell the most records for them this year. His fans are loyal and he always gives the reasons to be so.

When it comes to romance, Majid is a professor and we are all taking a course with him, but listening and studying his albums. The first five tracks are in the simplified Gulf Arabic, the sixth track is about Baghdad lover where you can dance. Track 9 has kinda of cool throwback music.  The rest are made for the Gulf listener.

Hasna Matar, The Pictures Are Out, The Video To Follow

She is Lebanese but she does very well with Iraqi songs, her latest music video will treat her Iraqi song into a cool music video. Her songs are about being away form the motherland, she did this very loud and strong song about yearning to the land of the ancestor.

Here claim to fame was a happy dance song that gets you pumped up. Get ready for one more pop diva that fights hard to get where she needs to be.

Iraq Could Use A Happy Song, Thanks Walid El Shami

Walid El Shami is preparing a gift for his people in Iraq, a techno song where he is filming a music video for it in Dubai where he is based. A mix of Iraqi and Gulf music, a fusion he calls it in a nightclub. There will be a dance troupe. I am ready to claim that Iraqis drink Arabic music with their mother's milk, they appreciate good music. And better they know how to make it.

I like Walid, he makes good music, and he helps a lot of other Iraqi singers with music. I know he is a big deal with his fans who love his fresh music. Watch the interview below talking about the music video and the crew.

The song is set to release next week, I am certain it will be a happy song with a lot of energy, you can see the behind the scenes. Keep on mind, things have not been going so well in Iraq lately and I know your prayers will be asking for peace.

The Elephants Fly In Iraq With Nasrat Albadr

This is the title of hip Iraqi up and coming blues singer Nasrat Albadr, the guy sounds very Iraqi, but he sounds like he is mimicking someone who is a lot older than himself. But Nasrat is doing the very unique Iraqi style of blues. They have lived under sad reality and it has creeped into their music so beautifully and naturally. Nasrat is one \of those voices that is mroe famous among Iraqi musicians than among the casual fans.

A native to Baghdad, the son of a former pilot. Studied in Baghdad and went to art school, the moved to Syria, Lebanon, Dubai. He started his professional career in 1998. He is capable composer who has worked with Hussam Al Arassam and composed many songs for him. The song below is from his 2012 album...when elephants fly.

UTN1 Promotes Much Needed Peace To Iraq's Youth

The Iraqi rock/pop band wrote one of those songs that have a big  and a timely message. Their song was written for an Iraqi reality TV "Salam Shabab", a show where young Iraqis from all across the land, faiths, cultures and sects appear next to one another. The show needed a song with message about peace and youth, the people behind the reality TV show wanted the song to be catchy.

So, they commissioned UTN1 with the task. The band wanted to give something back to their motherland at those troubling times. So they creative process went one for some time, and then the band came forward with this song you can hear below--this is just a portion of the song. The song is inspirational, moving and asks of Iraqis to rise above the challenges.

I did actually hear the song performed live by the band and it was something. It's about standing united and building Iraq. I wish more people in more places would subscribe to this message. Ignore the forces of darkness and mayhem, and put your good faith in your fellow citizens.

Give it a listen

WATCH: Melhim Zein 2012 Music Video ملحم زين - ما عاد بدي ياك / فيديو كليب 2012

Melhim Zain never liked making music video by his contracts require he does so he makes them. A song from his 2012 is airing now on Rotana TV channels, but not yet online. However, here's a video for it on YouTube. His album was good and offered a lot of different songs in both Iraqi and Lebanese. He is a fun guy who knows this is all business.

He performer as concerts but it seem that his fame and success do not get into his head so he keeps his head high. There's a girl in his music video and some strange things going on. Then it gets better. Melhem calls his wife as he sits with their kid and tells her he misses her. But ti seems she has other plans for their future.

She shares with him that she is only with him because of their kids. Then he is in the car singing with a guy (I think that's the song's composer Fares Iskander) an old Fyrouz song. All that in the actual son has not started yet. Then the song honors the screen....

The song wants to put the spotlight on kids from broken homes. And By the way why do music video always get filmed in fancy homes. You know some of us are poor.

WATCH: The Many Girlfriend Of Kathem Al Saher

Iraqi composer singer and now reality TV star Kazem Al Saher is a charmer, he is well known for his touching and epic romantic songs. He has been in the business for 20 plus years and he have had dozens of hits and many great albums. He is not a guy who likes to talk too much about himself in interviews and such he seems like a down to earth guy. But in his music video he holds nothing back, always with gorgeous ladies.

He is a happily married man with a lovely family and a recent grandchild given to him by his older son Wissam. This family man has had many musical collaborations with lead female artists. Sometimes he has loaned them his music, sometimes he would sing with them on stage. Let's take a look at some of his most famous lady muses:

  1. Latifa from Tunis, she was the first lady Kathem Al Saher has worked with. He has sang with her and has composed songs for her. She was a huge name and he was starting up his career then. They are best of friends.  كاظم الساهر /البرت هول 1997 / ياقدس
  2. Egyptian songstress Ghada Raghab was next on the list. Kathem has comended her voice and has given her a musical piece. It was a lovely collaboration from a guy who has been around the block and a new voice then. لمـــــاذا ؟ - غادة رجب  كاظم الساهر غاده رجب - ابعد عني
  3. Magida El Roumy is a huge star and has sang a number of poems by Syrian poet Nizar Qabbany--the go to guy for many of Kathem's gorgeous songs. Magida wanted to collaborate with Kazem so he gave her one of his best musical work to date--she added it to her 2012 album. Kathem was jazzed up about his collaboration and has spoke about it for a really long time وعدتك - ماجدة الرومي & كاظم الساهر & نزار قباني (HQ) كاظم الساهر وعدتك ماجدة الرومي
  4. Asma Laminawar, then, she was a local singer with a lot of talent. She had the local fame, but on the pan Arab music radar, she was unnoticed. They did a song together in early 2007-2008 and then they performed it on stage in Morocco. It was an instant hit, so Kathem doubled down and did another song with this Moroccan delight in his 2009 album. Again it was one of the finest songs for that year, a classic. كاظم الساهر و اسماء المنور اشكو اياما المحكمة كاظم الساهر اسماء المنور

Iraq's National Anthem And Their Soccer Team

Iraq is having a rough road ahead as politicians are not murdering their people and turning in one another. They are also failing to deliver security to their people and have not manged to find a workable solution for their personal differences. Each group seems to seek help from a foreign government. There are those who get a boost from Iran, others get in from the United States, and some look toward Turkey and Saudi Arabia. In the meantime people are dying for no reason, bombs go off and people go to waste.

But there's still some hope at least for those who like soccer and good music. The national anthem--written by a Palestinian who loves all his follow Arabs. See Shatha Hassoun joins the Iraqi soccer team in performing the Iraqi National Anthem in a giant stadium. I adore the little Iraqi girl who makes me hopeful for a better future.

Hatem Al Iraqi, The Savior And Iraq's Hit-Maker

Iraq has seen better days, but hope is not dead. I think that every time I hear a song buy the loyal son of Iraq Hatem Al Iraqi whose name represents the nation. But his voice does more than represents Iraqi, it united a people. His music soothes the soul. Hatem made it big, by keeping it safe....people like Iraqi music because one it's sad, two because the dialect can express sorrow like no other.

No need to sound fake, and no need to go over the top, just fine the right lyrics and Hatem's voice will put his all Iraqi flavor and give you a classic. It does help Hatem that he is a composer so he knows the music through and through.

Watch this clip below where he brought a poet, a real poet to add another emotional layer to this song, Hazem Jabir, this is a song that other Iraqi singers need to copy. Because if they do, you know Iraqi will be back in the lead (musically) in no time.

P.S. What's with Iraqi's obsession with blond models?

Rawad Saab Is Looking For A Wife And He Needs Your Help

Rawad likes brand names, he is driving a Mercedes, wearing cool trendy gear, all to declare his intentions. He wants to get married and he is asking you folks to introduce him to her. He wants a sweet girl whom his parents would approve of. He does not have many pictures of his floating around the net--he should look into that.

Good manners, good looks, you gotta go with the Lebanese Rawad sings. Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Morocco all get a shout out in the song. Then the Arab Gulf gets its shout out too. Just marry an Arab girl that's the song if you could not find the Lebanese one It's a clever song to break into the show business. Arabs are suckers for such songs.

Rawad is a young and good looking lad, he would not find it hard to find a lady.

The Cute Shatha Hassoun And Elissa Feud

Elissa might have the heart of a child, Shatha Hassoun has that Iraqi bold boiling through her veins. When they cross paths, the world collide. We have heard the story about the two starlets staying in the same hotel--one had many fans out waiting for her, the other did not. The media caught win of the story, they made it a big deal.

In a Beirut concert, the media caught up with the Iraqi singer Shatha and spoke to her about her projects and upcoming events. Shatha is a talented singer with one of the most committed fans out there. Unlike many singers, she can claim two big Arab countries as her home...both Iraq and Morocco.

She is no fans of Elissa's and thinks that she has seen the history of that singer since she seems to pick fights with others. Shatha refused to say anything about the Elissa's new album--even though she has criticized the album cover before. I like both singers, they seem to do similar songs--Shatha does a bigger variety of songs than Elissa, but Elissa has a well established brand

Elissa remains silent on this matter, but Shatha is also smart, she said she likes some of Elissa's songs, not all of them. Keep in mind, both songstress work under the same Rotana label. Shatha and Elissa might not be the best friends out there, but whatever competition they have might help make their music better and their songs more real.

كليب علاء الدين - شذى حسون - OFFICIAL VIDEO - Clip Alaa Eldeen Shatha Hassoun

OK, the music video that we have talked about for two months now, finally gets released and it's below. Shatha Hassoun outdoes herself here and raises to the occasion to tell a story, a true story. She is not trying to be cool or cute, she found a good team for this song and she gave them all she has.

The storyboard gores, a celebrity gets sick of the spotlight and exists through the back door leaving it all for love. I love Dubai and the outlandish outfits the Iraqi diva sports around. She has this sexy look that makes anything look stunning.

We got to see an iPad, contact lenses, a middle aged guy with earnings, a white guy who is trying to seduce Shatha. Shatha Hassoun is a much coveted entertainer. She has enough and walks out on a crowded highway. I am not going to spoil the ending for you, but I do love the bird.

عايش غريب - شذى حسون 2012 | Aish Garib - Shatha Hassoun

The music of India has played a big role in the local music scene in thew Gulf due to the long history of exchange between those two lands. That's what you get when he hera the latest single from Iraq's finest pop export Shatha Hassoun.

The music is composed by the busiest and most popular gulf music composer Fayez Al Said, he channeled some elements of Bollywood music. Hands down he is the best composer and most accomplished composer who crank up one fins song after another. He seems to really like working with Shatha who seems to have moved her operation to Dubai

A female poet composed the lyrics, and she did one heck of a job, she wrote all the things that guys often overlook. I am talking about the emotional stuff of course. Shatha chose the right song and the right time to release this single. Shatha is a music force not to be reckoned with, she is way smart and way more expediences than many of her peers. She makes good choices, sounds really good too and her fans would do anything for her.

Rotana Spoils The Hell Out Of Shatha Hassoun

I think a certain Lebanese romance singer is no longer Rotana's favorite star. The Saudi company and its mangers seem to be fixated on the Iraqi Moroccan singer Shatha Hassoun. She is younger, more exciting and books tons of concerts in the high paying Gulf market. She is also popular in Lebanon too and a Huge deal in both Iraq and Morocco.

So, at the end of the day, it's all business, and she makes money. While she may not been a diva yet, and while she has a carer of about five years, she seems not to have any sings of slowing down. That's why she got a cool music video coming up and the network is promoting this video--which was filmed in Dubai.

Shatha's promo for here Aladdin and the magical lamp, she is rocking the red dress! I think the video will follow soon.

Ozaina Al-Ali And How The Internet Loves Him

When a singer had so many YouTube action, I cannot help but notice the traffic. Most recently, I have seen a really sad music video by Ozaina Al-Ali. It seems that all the love Ozaina has been reciveding is due to one his style and two to his dialect. The guy is not a hot looking guy so that will slow down his fame and limit his influence on the power of his lyrics. Which means he will have a lot of dudes and older women for fans.

His dialect is the one used in Northern Iraq, even though he is Syrian. Certain parts of Syria do speak like they do in Iraq. Ozaina is a full grown man, not a boy star. So he is into the music, not much the show part of it. As Ozaina seems to really know his way with the lute.

Most recently Ozzaina released a new album in a Beirut concert. I cannot help but notice how the people behind the Assi Hallani page keep on hitting the "like" button for Ozaina...I like him to. A sad song is good for the soul every now and often.

"Layalina" 2012, The Album No One Asked For

The marketing monkeys at Rotana met with the department of packing old crap no body cares about and together they put forth an album that offers nothing new and nobody seems to have noticed it. The singers come from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Iraq and they sing in different dialects.

In this day and age, you cannot get away with releasing an album with 6 tracks of no original material and no theme. What does Elissa have to do with Majid Al Mohandis and Rashid Al Majid? and what does Carol Samah have to do with Abdel Majid Abdallah?

  1.  اليسا - جوايا ليك Elissa Gowa Ya Leek
  2. راشد الماجد - سلام عليهم Rashid Al Majid Salam Alyhom
  3. عبدالمجيد عبدالله - مااذكر متى Abdel Majid Abdallah
  4. فضل شاكر/ يارا - خذني معك Fadel Shaker and Yara Kedny Ma'ak
  5. كارول سماحه / مروان خوري - يارب Carol Samaha and Marwan Khoury Ya Rab
  6. ماجد المهندس - فرصه مجنونه Majid Al Mohandis Forsah Majnoonah

These are all talented entertainers with different fans and different strength points. But unlike previous albums, that Rotana did there was a clear theme...romantic songs, sad ones, Lebanese ones....etc. If this album sells 5 thousand copies, Rotana should do a victory dance.

The Hit Show "The Voice" Gets The Arab Version

or maybe it's the Lebanese version. What has been done right so far, is the judges, the management has picked 4 awesome names in Arabic music who truly can sing and have a reputation for their strong voices and their musical knowledge.  AS far as the business is concerned, the intellectual property rights of the show belong to Talpa Holding, while Sony Pictures Television (STP) Arabia- representing Talpa formats in the region - is the co-production company.

This American show is now landing in Arabia and the masses are unsure what to make of another show that will waste more of people's time to pick talents who might never make it in this world again. MBC is hosting the show in the same format, 4 judges, they hear the voice, not see the person singing and then make their call. The person who likes the voice will be a mentor for the guest.

They already had a press conference about it and people are starting to talk about this high caliber show with big names like of Assi Hallani (Lebanon), Kathem Al Saher (Iraq), Sherine (Egypt) and Saber El Robaei (Tunisia). I would not watch the show, but I will follow its news.

Following the exclusive rights to broadcast the international TV show 'The Voice' in the MENA region on MBC1, MBC Group revealed the four star “coaches” of the show:

Kadim Al Sahir, Sherine Abdel Wahab, Saber Al Roba’ei and Assi El Hellani. The program will be hosted by Egyptian actor Mohamed Karim. This is a sing of the great recession that Arabic music have been seeing since the Arab Spring started.

Humam Iraqi Young Gun Of Pop - "Shawkt Alagek"

Humam first studied music in Iraq music institute. Then he joined a folklore group there too, then joined another one and toured representing Iraqi folklore all over the map. And when he wanted to be himself, he took part of a talent content show in Lebanon "Star Club", he one the first spot.

Then Rotana picked up him for a contract and he has been recording under their label. He filmed one music video, then another all in Lebanese which brought him more name recognition, then he did a song for Iraq. He released two albums so far and works on his music by releasing singles. His composer of choice is another young Iraqi Walid Al Chami who is considered one of the top Iraqi composers and music producers.

I like Iraqi music, the passion is done right, and their lyrics have the beauty and poetry of the Gulf and the accessibility of Lebanese and Egyptian songs. Humam walks a fine line and do a great job.

Najah Salem, One More Underrated Lebanese Diva

Najah called Egypt a home and never forgotten that Egypt opened its arms to this lady when she needed a place to live away form the wars. Najah Salam is a Lebanese singer and actress. Born in Beirut on March 13 1931, the daughter of a prominent poet and lutenist, known throughout the Arab world. Like many of her peers Najah started singing in school choirs until 1948, when her father embarked in Cairo to present her to the likes of Oum Kalthoum, Farid Al Atrash, Asmahan.

Her first works came in 1949, as she performed in Ramallah, Baghdad, and Damascus etc. She returned in 1950 to Lebanon to record on Lebanese television some new songs which are Ala Masrahika Ya Dunia, and to also play in several films such as Ala kifek, Ibnu Duat, Alchab Al Asmar, Al Dunia LamaTadhak. She is a Lebanese singer who has masted various styles of singing including the Lebanese folklore songs. .
But Najah's rise to fame came to light in 1956 when her love of pan-Arabism brought her many fans and she traveled to places like Tunisia and Algeria. In 1956 she has also appeared in Cannes where she brought her film to the festival goers.

It wasn't until between 1970 and 1974, when Najah visited each single Arab country and performed there. Her Lebanese songs are far more famous than the ones she did, even though most of her other songs were inspired by Oum Kalthoum. One of the many titled Najah has earned is the one closest to her heart-- Ashikat Masr, the one who swooned by Egypt.

She left Lebanon for years during the war years, and only returned toward the end of her career where she did her country proud and helped enrich the music scene. Najah Salem's musical adventures stand as a testament to our life of live and love of all things gorgeous.

How To Let Your Music Video Director To Ruin It?

Simple, let them apply all the ideas they have on your music video. This way they would make your music video a lab rat, a testing ground for all and any of their untested ideas. This way they will surely give you one shitty music video that looks like an overflowing salad bowel loaded with salad dressing and none of the fresh produce.

I guess what my analogy is trying to say, you should be the judge and in the driver seat, don't let some guy with a fancey press release sell you one something that doe snot feel right. You want an example of what I am talking about, look no further than the video below. While the song is hip, the music video disappoints and confuses one's soul.

This is a pop song by Rahma Riad, it was supposed to be a treat, now I feel bad for the star who has shown so much promise. The pictures,m they tried to pain fall flat and the looks do not necessary work well for Raham (what's up with the all black dancers?). And what's sup with that eye mask look? Some bold hair cuts too! Why stop there? Bring the disco ball too!
