Kameltny (Hatem Fahmy's song) By Composer: Amir Ali

Sometimes, a cover does an original song a huge favor. Few can remember that this song came form pop star Hatem Fahmy, I may have heard it but I do not recall thinking it was any good. Now thought, I get a cover from the composer of the song Amir Ali.

Not sure what prompts a composer to release a song of his work using his own voice after he has given it to another singer. But in some instants, the original song gets buried and since a singer works so hard on it, he thinks it should get heard.

For a pop song, this is pretty entertaining.

Said El Marouk And Maya Diab To Make Sexy Clips

There's a new pop diva in Lebanon, and her name is Maya Diab. Think of her as the dark horse of Arabic pop who dances, sings and show more skin than most would. She has at least two different TV shows, and now she is hot for concerts where she open for other acts.

The news story reads, she is to released three singles and collaborate with one of the boldest--some can say kinkiest music video directors in Lebanon. Maya has been know for her sexy legs and babe personality. Few years ago she was just a cool chick on TV, now it seems she is building an empire. Well whatever it takes to keep those dollars rolling in.

Just see how she dances and the dudes seem to dig it. I think she should stick to pop and sexy stuff and leave the classics untouched by her.

Mohamed Nour Singer Turned Actor Shines In Game Over

Neither his singing career nor his new found career of acting is over, but the charming singer with exotic eyes is helping sell a movie in which he co-starred with not one but two strong female leads. I thought Nour's career was dead on arrival last year when he sang for Mubarak and apologized to him. But he is not done yet. The singer joined the cast of adapted comedy movie "Game Over" where he plays a police officer.

But one of the songs that appear in the movie or at least help sell it is one of Nour's and It's a nice summer treat with a lot of rights going for it. It's romantic summer playful beach side song where Nour does his thing so well. As he sings he falls in love with Mai Ezzdeen about the games of a new found love--chicken games who shows that he/she needs the other more.

It's beautiful song with the title "It (his heart) will win" I like Nour and think his days with WAMA have done him a solid, but he is one of the few members who have manged to have a career on their own. Thus Nour now joins his band mate Ahmed Fahmy who has appeared in scores of flicks.

The clip can be seen as corny, the dance moments are weak, but it appears as if the actors have chemistry on screen. I do know that Nour is happily married.

Remember Helmy Abdelbaky? You Weren't On Facebook Then!

We have a guy from the 90s who is coming back to entertain us at those difficult times. He did have about three great songs about heartbreaks and breakups. He does have that really heart broken voice which allowed him to do what some might call lame songs.

Say what you say, you have a new dose for Helmy Abdelbaky, the tall guy who seems to always find the wrong girl to love. In his music video he does the same story about a hundred other Arabic music video have already done. He is a photographer whose work builds up a star and then when she makes it, she leaves him to his sorrow in a dark room.

And then things change and she wants him back....he walks away....what a gentleman. But wait, there's a twist, he did give his eyes to save her eyesight. She needed to see after the surgery...and he gave his eyes. But then she loves another guy...until she sees him and learns the tale. I do like the end that might be cheesy, but it's original.

I'm not just a number
I'm a two days old child
I'm the one on a bicycle and that's my dad jumping with joy
I'm the one who's fixing his jacket while my mom's worrying
about evil eyes!
I'm not a figure in the absence lists
I'm the one who's hiding tales within a book
I'm the one whose folks went through hell for
I'm not only a case and we're not just "somebodies"
I'm the one whose lover's been waiting for so long
to make it and get done with college, army, and all that madness
I'm not a figure written on my dead body
I'm a normal person....I'm a football match in my neighbourhood
I'm the one painting on trees along the way
I'm not a date, and not an announcement
I'm a knock that doors well recognize
I'm the one who dances in all the neighbours' weddings
I'm not a flag and a couple of mourning days
I'm not a protest, and not a song
I'm the one whose mother's will spend mourning, and every feast soaked in black
I'm not just a number!!
You're the traiter..you walked away and let go of my right
you're the murderer..you left me to die and made pacts with my blood
you settled for killing, injustice, subjugation and humiliation
your silence has turned me from a person into a digit inside a column
I'm dead thirsty, my land...dead thirsty for freedom
I'm dead but with a principle!! holding your flag!
Calling for dignity...with your name engraved in my heart
How could you trivialize my blood? simply throwing the recoupement to my mother!
When I stayed up long nights drawing a signboard with your flag on it
And I joined the demonstrations clamouring and calling your name
I'm the one who loves you, but you still defamed my reputation
your sea, streets, and sands still have their effects on my body
I'm your every memory, I'm your every joy
and I always pray for God to keep you safe
I'm the tear of some other mother, I'm a soonly faded dream
I'm the one who died , so you, Egypt, could long live and be higly raised.
I'm Ghandour
I'm Mina
I'm El-Shekh Emad
I'm the one who died , so you, Egypt, could long live and be higly raised

Mohammad Mounir - O, Strange Country!

Mohammad Mounir - O, Strange Country!

O, strange country!
An enemy, and not a lover
Your eyes are open at night
And your stars are distant

I don't know the people,
Or the buildings of this land
And I don't own an inch of their foundations,
Nor a single brick in their walls,
And my path is strange

A world comes and goes.
Who am I, and what is my place?
And what is the end of the story?
And what is it that has cast me away?
O strange path of mine!

Is it a world or a maze?
A circle that we spin around,
Morning and evening,
Ah! Around and around!
O, strange path of mine!

Malik L - Bulletproof Farmala, Part 1

Stood up from their sleep dreamin' - it ain't only just a dream!
No more autocracy from this family of منافقين !
No more reading lies out of a book that’s colored green!
I think it first popped in Zintan, al-Bayda, Benghazi .
We ain't going home till you give us back our streets.
joined their brothers in
Men and women united against 42 years of power.
عرب درنه took the entire city in less than 24 hour!
Shotgun blasts in Tobruk. طابور خامس don’t look!
'Cause ain't no such things as halfway crooks!
Men in the middle of مدينه مصراته motivated, on the move
from rooftop to streetblock like they had something to prove.
Not easy to die young even when there isn’t much to lose.
So many years a brother been hangin' so close to the noose.
When I got the oppurtunity I ran home like Babe Ruth.
Answered the call to fight jumpin' the border screamin'
And you know son, yo, we ready for action.
Now that I'm at home, son, عم قاصد eatin' fasulye, relaxin'
But الشهداء got a brother so depressed
نلبس فرملة ضدّ الرصاص to protect my chest.
The revolution isn’t over, soldier. We still got المتسلّقين who never rest.
Most of these snakes is slitherin' behind the walls of المجلس
Abdul Jalil takin' advantage cuz he knows we used to being oppressed.
Understand that this all started from one single protest!
Half a century of rule can be wiped out with a single arrest!
That’s why Malik L composes for my youth this bullet proof orchestra.
There's no more fear, young man. Just pack ya bulletproof farmalas!

ENGLISH LYRICS

Bulletproof farmala (farmala- traditional Libyan vest men wear)

17 February was the dream of Libyans.
Stood up from their sleep dreamin' - it ain't only just a dream!
They all went to the courthouse to weep for [the victims of] Abu Sleem
and the people went out from Silmani to 20 Street.
No more autocracy from this family of hypocrites!
No more reading lies out of a book that’s colored green!
I think it first popped in Zintan, al-Bayda, Benghazi.
We ain't going home till you give us back our streets.
Al-Bayda ran [through] Hospital Street screaming "the people want!"
joined their brothers in Shahaat for either victory or death.
Men and women united against 42 years of power.
The Arabs of Derna took the entire city in less than 24 hours!
Shotgun blasts in Tobruk. Fifth column, don’t look!
'Cause ain't no such things as halfway crooks!
Men in the middle of the city of Misrata motivated, on the move
from rooftop to street block like they had something to prove.
Not easy to die young even when there ain't much to lose.
God have mercy on Mahdi Zyoo and Mohammed Nabbous.
In the alleys the heroes stood fast in Zintan and Zawiya.
In the square they played chess against Muammar ibn Dumpster!
We were thinking of the Arabs of Tripoli every second,
the city to which God gave patience and to whose insurgents he gave strength.
And in our hearts was the bravery of the capital's youth.
Long live Fashloom and Suq al-Jum'a, which rose up( got wet) at the beginning of the storm.
So many years a brother been hangin' so close to the noose.
When I got the oppurtunity I ran home like Babe Ruth.
And the Libyan youth in every country that they lived in
answered the call to fight, jumpin' the border screamin', "I'm Libyan!"
And you know son, yo, we ready for action.
Now that I'm at home, son, I where I want to be eatin' fasulye, relaxin'
But martyrs got a brother so depressed
I wear this bulletproof farmala to protect my chest.
The revolution isn’t over, soldier. We still got ladder-climbers who never rest.
Most of these snakes is slitherin' behind the walls of the [National Transitional] Council.
Abdul Jalil takin' advantage 'cause he knows we used to being oppressed.
Understand that this all started from one single protest!
Half a century of rule can be wiped out with a single arrest!
The revolution will go on. Here take this bulletproof farmala - and wear it.
