The good looking, and charming singer Ayman El Refaie has a song where he is praying to the good Lord. The handsome almost model look singer who comes from Egypt chose an odd time to release his latest track. It might be that he wants us to know prayer is as good any time and it doe snot have to be limited to the holy month of Ramadan--when most such songs get aired.

Ayman is a rare breed, he sings, composers and writes his own lyrics too--which gives him an advantage in both the business and the artistic sides. Ayman started his career in 2006 and has already authored two songs that were featured in films--one of whom won him an ward.

Zein Chaker, A Lebanese Song About Transgenders

In most cultures, including the Arabic one, this is not just a taboo, it's a toxic topic to bring up in mainstream media because we either lack education about the subject of transsexuals/transgenders or as some know them the gender benders. I do not know how real is the song from Zein Chaker, but for certain he has picked a lot of press--most of it is bad. But now we know who he is at least.

The song goes like this, boy meets girl, loves her, takes her home and introduces her to his family and circles. Then after the engagement comes the wedding, then here comes the boom, the lady is actually a dude. I do not know how people in this situation feel about the song.

The singer walks a fine line, he says this has become normal, but yet he loses his mind. The song is a poor qulity in terms of the production and even worse in terms of the demo music. The singer goes on to say this was a shock. I loved a woman who has turned out to be a male.

Zein Chaker will hold a press conference after the month of Ramadan to talk about the song and survey the press. The singer has actually shot a music video for this song which would be kinda of interesting to watch.

Shady El Ghitany Joins The Ramadan Fray

He dubs himself a new star for a new generation, that's Shady El Ghitany, a young composer from Egypt with the hair of a rock star. He just released a supplication track about how God reveals himself through his most simple of his creatures. He composed the song and performed it too.

The song is about his plea to be along with prophet Mohammad in judgment day. It's a good song and Shady sounds pretty good at such songs--I am certain he can do romance songs too. I like the emotional flow of the track.

I like how these guys make their music....Ashara Gharby means, few minutes of Western music. However, these guys have manged to incorporated the lute with other musical elements that are more hip. They even picked up a Ramadan song, talking about those world famous Ramadan lanterns.
I love how smooth the track is, it's exciting and frankly very fresh.

I know it will draw in both Arabic music fans and those who do not care of anything foreign to them. I think this is kind of music that only friends can bring together. Angham's "Hekaya Mohamadia" Album Is Really Magnificant

In the fall of 2010, during the month of Ramadan Angham released an all Islamic songs album (hekaya-mohamadia), where she told tales of the early Muslim ladies of Islam, the wives and the daughters of the prophet. It was a VERY clever idea that few have though of. Angham is a strong female personality and thus she was worthy of adding her voice to those stories. The album sold well, but it was never about the money.

Needless to say, when I play those tracks, Roa would tell me she doe snot like Angham's voice, she did not feel it, but I did. So I would have to listen to my favorite Ramadan album on my own. I thought the stories she told are important factual tales form the Islamic history. Thus young girls need to hear such stories and learn form them.

The lyrics are written by Nabil Khalaf, a gifted composers who made other religious themes albums that rocked the boat--I am speaking of his collaboration with Wael Jassar. Back to Angham, she really connected all the dots and rose to a new level with this sobering album

This album is a much better representation of positive chapters from the Muslim history. Chances are those are burning down embassies will be the same one condemning Angham for singing because she is a female.

KashKool (Notebook) Band Sings For Ramadan

A cool B list Band that goes by the name Kashkool just released their Ramadan track reminding us why Egypt is a great place to observe the holy month. They kicked of their track with the Azaan or the call to prayer. A band member actually performs it flawlessly.

And then the song stars in the humility of humans seeking forgiveness, and others seeking to break bread with many on one of those tables all over the streets of Egypt. This is a good song, and the style in which it was made reminds of of the 60s tracks that are made for the same purpose. The lead vocalist on this track really earns his paycheck.

Wael Jassar Teams Up With His Lucky Charm Nabil Khalaf Again

Nabil Khalaf (Nabeel Khalaf) wrote a lot of songs in his career. Among his best work are the lyrics he wrote for Wael Jassar religious album three years ago. They both teamed up again the following year.

 This year, they did not release a new album, but rather there's a video for one of their previous collaboration. About a faithful who seeks refuge in Allah, it's a short track of under one minute supplication. In the last 40 seconds you get to see Wael Jassar emerging from a dark corner inside a mosque.

I am one of those people who happen to think Wael Jassar did a great job on those songs, unlike all the others who tried to copy his success (Ihab Tawfik, Reda), none of them sounded as genuine as he does doing such tracks.

 

Sherif Abd El Mon'em Living With HIS Mercy This Ramadan

Egyptians are expected to record and released Ramadan songs, they almost have exclusive rights on those songs, with the exception of Wael Jassar do not take interest in doing such songs. So the month is a good time for new singers to release supplication tracks where they can showcase their talent and their vocal ability.

Just like Sherif Abd El Mon'em who released a one and a half track just few days ago. A track about mercy and making it with the love of God and being content what he has endowed us with--and what he has not.

Sherif has the voice to make a singer, the marketing has to work out for him to be able to make another song that would be heard around town.

Adham Wagdy Not The Greatest But Convincing

Last year Adham Wagdy voiced a song for the revolution and the Arab Spring, on the collection album produced by Hamid El Shari under the title "An Arab Tale" Ever since then and I have not seen nor heard again from Adham Wagdy.

But he is back with a Ramadan song, few days before the end of the month, the song was picked by Melody Hits and it currently airs. The song is about the rituals of the month and you get a free tour of those popular Ramadan attractions.

I think Adham has a good voice, not a great one....that means I do not feel it's strong enough, so it sounds like Adham is stuck in the nasal area. Plus, I failed to find much info on Adham--Adham if you are readying try to reclaim your name on the net.

A Ramadan Classic "Wahawy Ya Wahawy وحوي يا وحوي"

Ramadan songs that stand the test of time are many, and we all love the classics. What some of us also love a classic makeover, like the video below from  female vocalist from Habaybna Band. Wahawy Ya Wahawy is a timeless song that we all have gotten used to listening too every and each Ramadan. It's really old song that has been remade and re-recorded by countless singers and bands.

This video was recorded at a Ramadan music festival in Cairo. I do not recall any singer ruining this song, each time it gets remade, I feel that people stick to the original song.

Karim Anwar "Alem Bel'oloub" Ramadan Is Still On

For Karim Anwar who is a young up and coming pop star from Egypt, Ramadan is still a good time to release a song, he has done it before and now he does it again.

 This is a song as close to worship as they get, the guy is giving it his 100 percent. The pictures accompanying the music video do help make the case for the doa'a Karim has put forward. Karim has been doing his music sort of unnoticed for some time, but I think as time passes he earns new fans and better gigs.

Karima Gouit,Girls Can Also Supplicate In Ramadan

The class 8th season of Star Academy continue to impress me with their talent and their high sense of music. The latest graduates to release a supplication track is Karima Gouit. She is Moroccan enough said about this talented young lady. I do like her new look to go with the song and the holy month.

Her prayer/supplication is getting answered as we speak, she is asking for guidance and asking Allah to show her the right path--for many this means quitting the biz. Not sure if she is ready to do that, but she is ready to rock out. I like this track of hers. I must say, Karima sounds a lot like other pop stars we already know. This is a great start and I hope Karima finds the right path for her career.

More Decent Ramadan Songs Mahmoud ElMohandes

He is the new kid in the block, and he is not kidding around nor taking that lightly. He released an entire album for Ramadan. An album that had real music, good lyrics and heart. Such songs often tend to be under on minute supplications, but not with Mahamoud ElMohandes, he makes full songs and we can hardly complain.


If we are to compare voices and styles, then I would say, Mahmoud sounds like a young Hamada Hilal (humble, sincere and fun) which is a great compliment to both artists.

Most songs on this album are included blew, if you can buy the album do it, this is a fine young singer that needs to be supported. There are happy songs too, like the first track, it;s about the excitement of the holy month and all the treats it brings--this is a song that kids and their parents will find fun to play around the house.

It's OK! Mohamed Diaa Praises The Lord

Mazzika, the Egyptian music production company is too busy making religious themed songs this Ramadan. After all, they would need new stuff to play during the month. Aside from Ramadan, they showcase dance music videos, but in Ramadan they tone it down.

One of their subcontractors is composer Mohammed Diaa who really makes good music for other singers, but he has made half a dozen very well regarded romantic songs. But he has also released at least two other songs this Ramadan--supplications

His soft voice can draw the humble picture very well and that what it takes to make a religious themed songs. Those do not understand the song, will like the imaged and shots in the video, some of them are from the gorgeous nature.

Ahmed Ezzat, The Post Star Academy Chapter

The cool dude of Egyptian pop has released four singles, two for Ramadan and two romantic one. 

It took him 12 months to release those singles. One thing most of us come to like about Ahmed is his down to earth personality combined with his relate-able voice.

That means when he sings, he actually tells a story from the heart that one can immediately relate to. He does not sing the kind of songs that come from thin air. Now comes his second Ramadan song, the one from last year was very good--even better if you have spend some time in Egypt.

This year's song sounds the alarm on being human and making errors due to our collective weakness. I am not certain why Ahmed Ezzat does not release more songs, I know that the times are far from perfect for new music. But I do not hear much about any concerts he is holding in the wake of his TV fame from last year's Star Academy.

 I call myself a fan of Ezzat's, he sounds like a grownup and mature singer, he is not the kind of guy that will get you to dance and move to his beat in the club. Instead he speaks to your heart and mind to feed your emotional needs. Now, this is a Ramadan song coming from someone who is bold enough to say he is weak and wants to be kept away from the temptation.

Ahmed Awad, Another Guy, Another Ramadan Album

Ramadan songs are a dime a dozen because there are too many people seeking reward for doing a good deed that might push their name too. Anyone can make a Ramadan song, even actors have dabbled into making them. All it takes some humble lyrics about prayer, modesty and asking for help.

For the music video, one gets images of nature and other wonders. But I found a guy who has a good song, but has virtually no name recognition. He is a young Egyptian singer known in the local circles. He released an entire album of prayer tracks. He worked with a lyricists, a composer and sound rearrange to produce the album. I am pleased with what I have seen and heard so far.

I like Ahmed Awad, I think he has whatever it takes to make a track that is heavy on the personal reflections and spritual renewal. Well done.

Again Saudi MBC Prostitutes Lebanon During Ramadan

I have one question for people appearing on this video....this is a Ramadan function on a station owned by Saudis, a network that claims to have the biggest and most watched TV show, namely about the second Muslim Caliph "Omar", I m ready to say that the guy who is talking about the show has no idea who Omar is and thus he has the IQ of a bag of hammer.

back to my question, if the people who appear on this video are Muslims they ought to be ashamed of themselves for their revealing clothes during the holy month. Why would the Saudis hold such parties in Lebanon, would they ever allow similar events at home? Not in a million year

If they are Christians, that's fine and dandy, but would they ever wear such clothes to a church function? Not in a million year they would. This is what you wear to a cheap night club, not at some social function. And yes there are tons of kisses, hugs and smooches.

Why would they then show up to a Sahour meal--the meal Muslims eat before starting their fast at the break of down. These people have no class, nor they should be celebrated for being so insensitive to one Muslims and two to their viewers.

You see there were few guys dressed in the Saudi national dress-the white spotless dress and red head cover, and this guy is hanging out with the ladies dressed so provocatively in the holy month. I do not really care what they wear, this is where I differ with most critics, I only want them to be respectful of the holy month if they are as an Ramadan event sponsored by a network that claims to be moderate. What qualifies this network to air shows talking about the virtues of Islam when it comes to their own life--they are hardly Muslims.

Again MBC misses the mark with unprecedented ignorance and elitist mindset.

I Have A Crush On Mohmoud El Mohandis!

The dude's voice rocks! Never have I heard a more excited young voice that puts all his heart, soul and mind in his tracks. The level of skills, confidence and talent Mahmoud El Mohandes reveals in his mini Ramadan album is not your everyday find. Not only does he sound very lively, fresh and close to the heart, but he also composes his songs too. All the track on this album came from his own labor.

Just hear the tracks of his supplications. He has the voice, and the perfect bittersweet voice. I have not heard any other non- Ramadan songs but I can detect he can also do happy songs as well--check the fourth track out and see for yourself--it's below. The guy is hoping to score with the Amr Diab Academy so he can appear on stage with the King of pop himself.

I do not know where Mahmoud came form or what kind of training he has had, but judging form the cover of his album, there are a lot of people who believe in his talent and came together to lend him a hand with his album in good faith.

OMG! Lebanese Singer Yara Smokes In Ramadan

Yara has always told us to stay classy, her songs often look for the classy look and the classy lyrics. She has won the hearts of her fans for good reasons. But here's a story that will make you wonder about this lovely songstress. A story 

In Algeria, after doing a concert part of Jamaila Al Araby Music Festival, she took a cab back to her hotel room. Inside the taxi she lit a cigarette in the day. The driver told her not and asked her to put it out. She was reported to have refused to do so.

The driver then stopped near a traffic stop and informed the officers of the situations. The officers have asked Yara to stop smoking and respect that fact she is in a Muslims country. I am sure Yara will issue a press release about the incident.

Religion aside, smoking in cars is so third world country. Nothing classy about smoking in closed spaces. Let's see if this story has legs.    

Mohamed El Sawy Is A Guy Who Sings About Praying!

He is a down to earth guy, and he has never gotten a big endorsement deal or a big commercial, but yet he still impresses millions. Mohamed El Sawy is releasing a prayer track this Ramadan. His track sounds really real and coming form the deep. He is joining a number of new comers and seasoned entertainers who have done songs for the hold month.

It's not just a quick song for a quick buck. Songs likes these almost never make money, you do it for faith and for the good deeds. This is about asking for help for above when he kneels in prayer. If that's no enough the images and videos accompanying the supplication are dazzling.
