The alum of the TV show Star Academy Mohammad Ramadan seems to be happy doing sad songs. He has released about four singles so far and each of them tops the previous one in being sad and heartbreaking. Why would a young man who has a bright future be so sad is beyond me.
No wait, it pays well. He has a promo out for his latest single which he recorded in the Lebanese dialect where most of his songs seem to fit naturally. Ramadan has many fans out there, they seem to enjoy his singing style and approve of his choices.
Watch inside the recording studio teaser and entire song as well.

Yahia Sweis is a passionate young man, but the father of the girl he loves can kick his butt. Yahia loves the girl from next door where their both houses are separated by a wall--he wants to tear down that wall. So Yahia makes a proposition let me marry your daughter in accordance with the religious traditions off course.
At least this is how his new single goes. Yahia is a spirited singer from Jordan, he did appear on Star Academy three years ago. I think he has a winner song here and it has the wild appeal to most Arabs. The beat will be welcome in Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. The lyrics are dripping passion, Yahia looks the part. This is a song that will be welcomed by the young and the old. The young will like the upbeat style, the old will cheer the traditional style.
Yahia is well composed guy, a very quite personalty, and a student of Computer sciences. His song Karmal 'Ayonik will be a great calling card for concerts and othber parties. Great Job Yahia, you have made a great choice here.

She took part of Star Academy more than two years ago, she was not the sharpest tool in the box, but likable she was. She made friends with everyone, she joked around and made best friends with Rahma Ahmed. Rahma was busy making a career, Badriyah moved to Beirut for work.
Now she is released her debut music video where she gives you the beach. The song sounds like an Egyptian beat--mostly the city of Alexandria. There was another lady that went by the name Badriyah Al Sayed years ago and she helped shape the folksy songs. Here's another Badriyah picking the same style and adding a bit more romance to this modern day tale.
If YouTube comments tell us anything, this songstress have fans out there who really miss her and want to be part of her life. For this new single, she has challenged herself and voice training may have done her wonders. The new look seems to have worked beautifully.

The guy who everyone seems to love has turned 23 years old. Ahmed Ezzat is a young popular singer with three singles to his name. He was the runner up for Star Academy. His fans put together a video for him and he had a concert where few of his friends showed up and celebrated with the young singer.
The surprise was for Ahmed as his friend Lian Bazlmit emerged on the stage as he sang in his concert. It was a nice surprise. Ahmed who wore skinny jeans to the concert rocked the party. They had a huge yellow cake for the birthday party and they all sang Happy Birthday Mido!
Ahmed has a bright future ahead of him, the warmth of his voice and his personality makeup a major attraction for the young star.
Well, happy birthday Ahmed, you make me feel so old now.
Mohammed Dakdouk looks like a guy who likes sports and likes a god song. He is starting his career and really wants people to tune in. A good song is nothing if it does not catch the attention of people. So for his music video he told a true story that happened in 2001. One minute you are young and unstoppable, the second you are gone and the ambulance is trying to rescue you from some acts that can be later viewed as stupid.
I do not like the talk in the cellphone as one sings--talking in your cellphone implies you are busy. If you are busy drop the filming until you are done. It's not cool anymore. It's a good song it might register with some people out there who like the singer from his days at the Star Academy season 8. The singer also wrote and composed the music
Dakdouk likes cars and he seems to be talking to them as he has missed his loved one who is now gone. I have never got into the racing business. Fast cars do not seem sexy to me, I know many in Saudi Arabia are now dealing with deaths due to accidents and racing activities that young people organizes underground.
In American they have sex tapes, recorded voices messages, and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. They also have one star who likes to steal things, and there are many who go to rehab to address problems with drugs, alcohol, and exhaustion.
Let's visit Arabia and see what the Arab stars have for us in store, it seems that with the spotlight, so many Arab stars get caught in scandals or trouble with the press.
A leaked video of Nancy Ajram at a beauty shop where her privates where being taken care of by a professionals. This was bad and we still love Nancy...
Egyptian dancer turned actress, had a leaked sex tape with her husband--on papers, not a real marriage. They were in the bedroom doing the nasty and it was a vivid video that shocked the Arab press for which Dina wore the head cover for a while.
Lebanese TV personality, singer and actress, Rozan Al Moghraby was the star of a privet video where she was around a lot of beer and performing sexual acts on some dude while joking and teasing. This has torpedoed her career.
Lebanese super star and media darling had pictures of her in bikini by the pool side leaked to the internet and off course who does not want a little peak?
Egyptian actress Ziena, was a guest of a TV show when her dress got tangled and her dress came off a bit revealing her bra for everyone to see.
Syrian singer and TV personality was a guest of Star academy, doing a song when her tight jeans got ripped from the front in the middle of her segment, revealing a prime real estate.
Egyptian actress trying to be singer Mena Fadaly had a birthday party and it was a crazy party attended by so many celebrities, Mena's pictures leaked to the press and the pictures revealed too much, and humiliated the singer and most of her parting guests. That was a big deal.
Kuwaiti singer Jawad Al Ali cannot catch a break, while a guest on a live she, come dude called in and called him gay and asked him to perform an act of sexual nature. Poor Jawad, that must have been an awkward exchange.
Moroccan singer, Laila Ghofran--an other wise great vocalists was the star of a video where she was doing a steamy dance bit and sitting on her boyfriend (friend who is a boy) feet.
Lebanese singer/actress Marwa was doing an appearance at a primer of one of her movies, and the fans outnumbered what her guards can handle and it was reported she was harassed--some stupid people out there blame the dress she was wearing.
Again Lebanese Marwa was the star of a leaked footage from one of her movies where she was almost naked in the shower--this was a big deal later year. It seemed that the director leaked it and since then Marwa has been cleared.
Egyptian actress Hanan Turk was caught in the middle of a scandal with prostitution and all that, I think she served jail time, then it turned out she was innocent and the whole ordeal was a set up.
Tamer Hosny sang for Egypt and how much he loved it, then it turned out he forged documents to get out of the military service. He cliams innocence and that he was tricked into doing that. He did a jail time and since then he has been a tool for the armed forced in Egypt.
TV host Hala Sarhan had guests on her show who claimed to be prostitutes in Egypt and they have given so much details. The segment was a big hit and upset a lot of people. WE are told later that Hala hired some actress to pose as hookers. Hala would flee to Dubai and stays there until the Mubarak regime fell apart
Egyptian actor and activist Khalid Abu El Naga was the star of a video where he was marrying one of his lady friends on the beach--I do not know what this one is a scandal.
Libyan singer Ali Hamida was arrested for molesting a little boy in Egypt and he served time in jail, he would be a nobody after he once was the hottest boy of Arab pop in the 80s. He certainly had the coolest hair.
Star Academy and its participants had a lot of scandals about footage for females changing clothes and males and females getting cozy with one another. See the video below.
The rumors were true, I mean the ones about his romance with Moroccan singer Bassma--she is no career singer she took part of Star Academy season six. This might be the right way to go about making a comeback. Tamer Hosny as a single man has passed his expiration date.
a married Tamer Hosny might imply he is a serious musician who takes his work seriously. He is no longer Mr. single guy out there to get the ladies and seduce them through his romantic--sometimes cheesy songs. Tamer made the news official on his Facebook page through a video that landed there with a quck background story and then comes the wedding news. Tamer worked with the singer and then they have grown fond of one another--he approached her father and asked for Bassma's hand in marriage.
Now, I learned Tamer Hosny has made his marriage official in May of 2012 inside the Egyptian embassy in the United States where Tamer was working on some musical projects. He has kept the news due to the elections in Egypt and the incidents in Rafah. Now he is ready to go public.
Bassma Bousel has done some songs before with Tamer Hosny and ever since they have been romantically linked--something they both denied. But then the Arab Spring took over and the Tamer Hosny meltdown has taken phase. Tamer has not appeared in person to confirm the news, I would question the news until he speaks about it--because he can come out and say someone hacked his Facebook and put the video.
Some critics were never happy with Bassma Bousel for making comments and appearing too vivacious in the music video with Tamer Hosny. I think this goes back to her days at Star Academy where Bassma has rubbed some people the wrong way. Update: I have confirmed that Bassma was with Tamer Hosny in his February 2012 visit to the United States as he toured and stoppled in places like Washington DC. تامر حسني كمل نصف دينه

The hottest young gun of Lebanese pop strikes again, with an 11 track album that has gone unnoticed. Joseph Attieh is one of those young talents that gets people thrilled to work with, he takes his work seriously and he constantly works on himself to improve and give us--the fans better music.
Joseph is young and has not been in the business for long, but he has at least 2 great albums under his belt. His title song is about seeking validation and love from the people around him, he is trying to unlock the mystery of people's love. This is a fun pop album with the world Lebanon production all over it.
The producers of the album is the Star Academy label--Star System. I know they belive in Joseph Attieh and want to be in his business. In this album Joseph tries to show us his vocal strength, he does old styled Eastern songs with Mawal and mellow music. But he also flirts with Egyptian pop with a house mix song about getting married and moving in together.
The guy pulls it off, he is a master of his craft and after this album Joseph has nothing to show, he only need to focus on the business side and getting booked--he deserves as much. Congratulation Joseph, you got it going on.

Duets can be often off the cob which to say they are corny. Part of making a duet is showing that you believe and if you have to put an act, you should not hesitate.
Here's a music video that will not have you think corny. A Jordanian rapper who appeared on Star Academy wears customs and peacocks as he tries to stand out from the pack. She is young and mature, she is also Egyptian or sounds like one. A grownup girl gets to meet the childish dude, this ought to be fun to watch
The clip is made by a guy who watched a lot of blockbuster movies. Spider-man, Batman, 300, the Matrix, X-Men and sponge Bob. Why is Nasser shouting and getting worked up so bad? There is some cute battling between pop and rap. I like Nasser walking around in his underwear showing off his guns. Watch any giggle

The music video for Palestinian pop star Diala Ouda has been unleashed, the music video has been ready for over 6 months now, but K Music--the producers and music label just let go of it today. It's a song for Diala's single from an assortment album. I like the European wedding dress Diala Ouda is sporting. But this is only one of the half a dozen bold looks
I remember liking this song, I like the tattoos and the hip and chic look Diala pulled. I think this is a nice intro for the young songstress. She is off to a great start. One more thing, Haitham Nabil composed the song--he is only the coolest singer/composer out there.
I am certain some people out there, would criticize Diala, I think they better stop, she has something to say and she does do just that. She just h append to be from Palestine.
She is telling people to buzz off and let her express and show her excitement toward her man Diala Ouda - Mestabya3a from K Music - ديالا عوده - مستبيعه t
The class 8th season of Star Academy continue to impress me with their talent and their high sense of music. The latest graduates to release a supplication track is Karima Gouit. She is Moroccan enough said about this talented young lady. I do like her new look to go with the song and the holy month.
Her prayer/supplication is getting answered as we speak, she is asking for guidance and asking Allah to show her the right path--for many this means quitting the biz. Not sure if she is ready to do that, but she is ready to rock out. I like this track of hers. I must say, Karima sounds a lot like other pop stars we already know. This is a great start and I hope Karima finds the right path for her career.
The cool dude of Egyptian pop has released four singles, two for Ramadan and two romantic one.
It took him 12 months to release those singles. One thing most of us come to like about Ahmed is his down to earth personality combined with his relate-able voice.
That means when he sings, he actually tells a story from the heart that one can immediately relate to. He does not sing the kind of songs that come from thin air. Now comes his second Ramadan song, the one from last year was very good--even better if you have spend some time in Egypt.
This year's song sounds the alarm on being human and making errors due to our collective weakness. I am not certain why Ahmed Ezzat does not release more songs, I know that the times are far from perfect for new music. But I do not hear much about any concerts he is holding in the wake of his TV fame from last year's Star Academy.
I call myself a fan of Ezzat's, he sounds like a grownup and mature singer, he is not the kind of guy that will get you to dance and move to his beat in the club. Instead he speaks to your heart and mind to feed your emotional needs. Now, this is a Ramadan song coming from someone who is bold enough to say he is weak and wants to be kept away from the temptation.
Egypt's latest young diva who has the newest and strongest female voice in Egypt is about to releases a new album and she is having a concert just for you, the fans. Nesma won titled and impressed judges to bring the golden title to Egypt.
Then she disappeared for about six months, only to come back again and perform a cover song for an indie movie--And her YouTube has been going crazy with comments, and new songs. To her credit, Nesma has the confidence to mange such a strong female voice, it's a strong voice, but there is no shouting. Nesma which means a breeze has also the sincere side and emotional fortitude to do romantic songs. Her yet to be released album seems to have a Gulf dialect song too.
Fame in the post Star Academy world has been tricky for so many, but for starter Nesma seems to be ahead of the game by at least 80 million adoring Egyptian fans Nesma Mahgoub' Album Concert
The young and plenty handsome Syrian composer singer who appeared on Star Academy's sixth season in 2009 has been making music since then. His latest a Ramadan album with a music video where he is the center and where he song celebrates being faithful.
His voice is made for romance, and his talent has impressed so many in his short career. Bash is also Jordanian for his mother side. He offers a delightful song and puts his talent on exhibit. He just seems to be too smiley to be there.
Tell me what you think....

Yousef Arafat, the nice guy who almost won Arab Idol title a year ago is making a run for his career with a song for Islam. A song that no two will disagree on...the song is about beauty of Islam. A great choice form this Jordanian super awesome dude.
While most would chose a song about romance to kick off their career in the post TV fame on Arab Idol, Yousef chose Ramadan to launch his career and he soinds very different than I remember it. I like this choice, I am sure the most conservative and lightest ones would cheer his choice. So Yousef is back to make this very hot Ramadan a bit more tolerable.
I like the behind the secnes footage of the young artist. I am sure it was a lot easier to make this song than other ones. Too many studios would welcome such a song, but romance gets no love as there are over saturation at the moment. He was Mr. nice guy and all the judges enjoyed having him part of the show. While Arafat got his name out there on Arab Idol, he now chooses to praise the religion that came to destroy all idols.
Zeezee Adel is an Egyptian singer that rose to fame when she entered the famous Middle Eastern competition Star Academy during its second season. Soon after her elimination she sign a contract with Rotana, the biggest music production company in the Arab World, that included three albums and each having at least three music videos shot and the ability to release singles anytime she would like, as Zeezee being the only Star Academy graduate to receive that contract, leading to her success all over the arab world with her debut album, Wahda Tayiba which reached the number 1 spot on the Rotana top five albums, along with hits such as Hob Mosh Mahsoub Alayah (Unaccounted Love) which stayed on both Rotana and Virgin Megastore charts for as long as five months or so, Her second Single, Wahda Tanya (Another Chick), which also received great success all over the Arab World.Along with her success Zeezee won numerous awards including ART's Best New Artist and Zahrat Al Kaleej' Best Album of 2007.
